Giant Armadillo (Holmesina) Flex Osteoderm | Bony Plate – Shell Section

This is a small bony plate from the shell of a massive extinct giant armadillo (Holmesina) that grew as large as a Volkswagen Beetle. These were an iconic and very interesting part of Florida’s prehistoric fauna. This is a less common part of the shell called a flex osteoderm.
