Giant Armadillo Osteoderm Fossil Set – Bony Armor Plates

This is a set of three osteoderms (shell pieces) from a giant armadillo animal called a pampathere. Their shells are made up of thousands of these that lock together. Thiese belong to the species Holmesina septentrionalis. These were fantastic Pleistocene animals that went extinct at the end of the ice age along with so many other megafauna.
