Juvenile Megalodon Tooth | Miocene of Florida

This is a small little juvenile megalodon shark tooth. It has been subjected to a lot of water and sand moving over it for a while, wearing down a lot of the edges and the enamel…and yet it still tells a story, not only of being used by the largest shark that ever lived as it was growing into that mighty beast, but it also tells the story of the geological processes that have the power to preserve things for millions of years or erode them away into dust in a geological blink of an eye!
